What Is Safe T Band™
Safe T Band is an easy to wear waterproof silicone band that fits securely on your child’s wrist.
It’s perfect to wear anytime, but is especially important to wear when your child is out in public.
Each Safe T Band is engraved with two numbers: our free call 1800 IM LOST (1800 46 5678) phone number,
plus your child’s unique ID number. Gone are the days of writing your child’s name, home address or mobile number unnecessarily.
Safe T Band is linked to up to five personal contact numbers that you have registered with just one phone call, plus any other relevant medical information that should be known in the event of an emergency. This information is stored securely on the Safe T Band server for fast access.
How it works
In the event that your child is lost, any person that finds them can contact Safe T Band by phoning 1800 IM LOST. The free call will be answered by the Safe T Band, 24/7 automated “Intelligent Response System” (IRS).
The caller will be prompted to enter the five digit identification number on the band. They will then be diverted to the phone numbers you have supplied one by one, until a human response is received. If a number rings out or diverts to message bank, the next contact will be called. In the unlikely event that none of your five contacts are available, an SMS will be sent to all five contacts containing the caller’s phone number, who can then be contacted directly.
Should the child be ill or in an accident, the child’s finder or emergency services can contact Safe T Band using the same process as above to retrieive important medical information. This allows emergency services to make informed decisions regarding any possible treatment for your child.
It’s a good idea to change your registered contact details depending on where your child is going to be and who they are with. If for example your child is going on a school excursion, you may like to nominate the teacher as the first point of contact. Or the child’s grandparents, if they are staying with them for a couple of days.
